  英国一项新研究发现,食用甘蓝、卷心菜和西兰花等十字花科蔬菜能够预防结肠癌。

  肠道中一种被称为芳香烃受体的蛋白质能修复受损的肠细胞,使它们恢复吸收营养、分泌保护性粘液的能力。体内缺乏该蛋白质时,受损细胞肆意分裂,可能导致肠癌。英国伦敦弗朗西斯·克里克研究所人员对肠道中无法生成或激活芳香烃受体的转基因小鼠进行实验。若对小鼠的肠道炎症置之不理,最终将发展为肠癌。研究人员给它们喂食十字花科蔬菜后发现,小鼠肠道不再发炎,也未形成肿瘤。有趣的是,当已经患上癌症的小鼠开始食用这些绿色蔬菜,它们的肿瘤明显变小。

  研究人员称,十字花科蔬菜被消化时生成的化学物质能刺激肠道中的芳香烃受体,抵抗肠道感染并预防结肠癌,接下来他们将继续进行临床试验分析。(萧忠彦)
